The Fundraising Process
Pre-Offering
- Conduct due diligence on the firm and offering
- Identify strengths and weaknesses
- Provide advice on the structuring of terms and conditions of the fund
- Assist in preparation of PPM, presentation, due diligence book, and all other marketing materials
- Complete internal “diagnostic review”
- Provide coaching on presentation skills
- Prioritize investors based on market importance and interest in the offering
- Develop a global distribution plan
Road Show
- Provide detailed background information on potential investors
- Contact investors and schedule meetings
- Manage and coordinate road show logistics
- Follow up with potential investors on a timely basis
- Provide continuous feedback to clients on investors’ level of interest and potential issues
- Coordinate dialogue between investors and clients
- Manage and coordinate due diligence requests and processes
Closing
- Provide advice in connection with preparing the partnership agreement
- Assist in the negotiation of partnership documents
- Manage and provide advice on issues related to allocation
- Coordinate closing and assist in post-closing activities
- Help maintain strong relations throughout the investment period of the fund in order to facilitate future offerings
